A Winter Walk

I did promise to get out and about with the camera, so here are some pics that I took while Gareth and I went for a Sunday walk along the Thames. It was freezing but we made it to another entire suburb south of the river called Barnes where my camera ran out of battery, but I found some lovely shops...Ah well, I may just have to go back!!!

Our street...We are one of the ground level bay windows.

Our local square. The fountains come out of the grey circle in the summer...Every week there are markets set up with all sorts of food stalls - You name it! Jamaican, Turkish, Greek etc.

This is the Hammersmith Bridge. Yes that's Gareth striding ahead! To be fair, he made me get out and get some exercise! I suggested something indoors because it was cold, but the trouble with that is it's always cold!!!! This bridge is the 2nd most beautiful on the Thames, after the Tower Bridge.

This path is so nice when it's sunny! I didn't realise the path would be so muddy and was wearing my good boots!

It wouldn't be a winter walk without a squirrel visit!! They were leaping the trees above our heads! Oh yeah, did I mention they are my favourite animal!?

These pics were all taken at lunch time. If it looks dark, it's because it is! The sun barely makes it over the tops of buildings, even at the peak of the day.

  1. I love this especially the Squirrell. Squirrells are so cute, you should buy some cute ornamental ones and other woodland creatures. It does look Grey like you said. We have been watching Sherlock Homes the BBC one really enjoying it, think of you guys. I love the blue scarf and the area does look really nice. I bet when you come home you will look back with rose tints as we do. so enjoy it now too.
